Sunderland have officially confirmed that Fabio Borini will join Milan permanently on July 1.
The versatile 27-year-old joined the Rossoneri last summer on loan with an obligation to buy, and made 29 Serie A appearances.
The former Roma striker managed four goals and six assists in all competitions, and his move will be made permanent next month.
This scenario is a common one in Italy, as taking a player on loan for a year before a permanent signing means the costs can be spread over two financial years, with the Financial Fair Play reporting period ending on June 30.
