It’s reported Ciro Immobile only has a first grade biceps femoris injury, so the Lazio striker has an outside chance of returning for the Inter game.
It was feared that the Italian international’s season was over, after he was forced off with a thigh injury against Torino.
Today he had scans at the Paideia clinic to ascertain the severity of the injury, and La Repubblica reports he has only a first grade strain.
That would usually require two to three weeks on the sidelines, so it’s possible Immobile will be back for the final game of the season at home to Inter.
That could effectively be a play-off for the Champions League, as the Nerazzurri are currently just three points behind fourth-placed Lazio.
It could also be a shoot-out for the Capocannoniere crown, as Immobile currently leads the scoring charts with 29 goals, two ahead of Inter captain Icardi.
